Common questions
How do I share a note?
Open the note, tap the person icon, and invite by the email your friend uses with iCloud, by their WatchNotes username, or send them the invite link. Everyone you add can edit the note; you can stop sharing at any time.
What's a WatchNotes username?
An optional, friendlier way to be found. Claim one in Settings and people can share notes with you without knowing your email. You can change it whenever you like.
Does the watch app need the iPhone nearby?
No — it's a standalone watch app. With Wi-Fi or cellular it syncs on its own; otherwise your notes are stored on the watch and sync when it's back online.
Why don't I see my notes on the watch?
Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and iCloud Drive is on (Settings → Apple Account → iCloud). Then open the watch app's Settings and tap "Sync Now".
How do I delete my data?
Delete notes in the app (swipe left) — this removes them from iCloud for you and everyone they were shared with. Remove your username in Settings. For anything else, email us.

WatchNotes ("the app") is designed to be private. We do not run ad networks, we do not use third-party analytics or trackers, and we never sell your data. There is no account to create and no password — the app uses the iCloud account already on your device.
What the app stores
- Your notes — titles, text, formatting, and checklist items you write.
- Sharing information — which notes you've shared and with whom, managed by Apple's iCloud sharing.
- Your username (optional) — if you claim one, the username you chose.
Where it's stored
Your notes are stored on your devices and in your Apple iCloud (CloudKit) account, in your private database. We (the developer) do not operate our own server and cannot read your notes.
When you share a note, its contents become visible to the people you invited — and only to them — through Apple's iCloud sharing. Participants with edit permission can change the note; you can remove people or stop sharing at any time, which revokes their access.
If you claim a username, that username and an anonymous Apple identifier (your iCloud user record ID — not your name or email) are stored in the app's public directory so other users can share notes with you by name. Anyone using the app can look up a username. You can release your username at any time in Settings, which deletes the directory entry.
What we can see
Nothing personal. Note contents live in your iCloud and in the iCloud accounts of people you share with. Apple provides us aggregate, anonymized statistics (for example, download counts) through App Store Connect.
Voice input
Dictation on Apple Watch and iPhone is provided by the operating system and follows Apple's dictation privacy terms. The app only receives the final text.
Data deletion
Deleting a note in the app deletes it from your iCloud and from all shared participants. Releasing your username deletes the public directory entry. Turning off iCloud for WatchNotes in system settings stops all syncing. To ask us anything about your data, email varanauskaslukas@gmail.com.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.

- WatchNotes is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We work hard to keep your notes safe, but you use the app at your own risk — keep backups of anything critical.
- Your notes are yours. We claim no rights over anything you write.
- Don't use sharing or usernames to harass, impersonate, or spam other people; we may reclaim usernames that impersonate others.
- Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.
